3 races were held with 41 entries in 470 class.  Matsunaga/Yoshida (Threebond) had a good day with 3 firsts, and leading overall.   ‘We were happy today, but our biggest threat was the 3rd race when Mrs. Yoshida was very close behind us. ‘    Matsunaga’s strength is downwind, especially with big swells.  ‘The wind is not easy, and we were not sure which way to go for the first upwind.  However, we can pass many boats downwind.’  Kenji Nakamura, the National coach, hopes that all University students look at the top team’s downwind technique carefully, and learn how to catch waves, pump, and surf.  He said ‘Ai-chan can do it, so why not boys?’   Kenji was pleased with Ai’s performance today after the training in Santander.  2nd place overall is Ichino/Hokazono, 3rd is Ai Yoshida / Yoshioka, 4th was Doi/Imamura.

Weather tomorrow is similar, and we expect another good breeze with big waves.  We wonder if 49er and FX can manage, and also Laser, Laser Radial and Laser 4.7 will start tomorrow.
